Big Sky is the sort of business consulting firm that doesn’t do well with following the mainstream. Why? Because the business consulting world is really screwed up. That just doesn’t sit well with us.

In a best-case scenario, consulting firms are more than happy to come into your business, tell you everything that you’re doing wrong, hardline you into a contract at $500 an hour then set up shop in your office, and start telling you what to do differently with little mind to if it actually helps your business. They just want to be there as long as possible and rack up the billable hours (Ever watch House of Lies– it really is like that). Leaving their consulting clients with little more than some pretty binders with mostly canned, generic business information and a $250,000 bill.

That’s the best-case scenario. We’ve come into contact with more than one consultant that can somehow trick clients into letting them into their business. Then they cause serious damage and leave the client without a business and holding a bill.

Big Sky is a consulting company sure, but a lot different than what you probably know one as. We understand that most people don’t get into business because they want to stare at P&L and Balance Sheets all day. They are people that figured out that they know how to do something well enough that people put enough value in it and are willing to pay money for it.

Because of that, most people that have hired consultants have ultimately reverted back to what they were doing before the consultants came in and installed complicated systems that they didn’t understand how to run. After that who would blame them if they had a bad taste in their mouth?

We get that, but that’s exactly why we are swimming against the flow. You are probably one of those people. JT our founder always says “It’s not our job to teach a mechanic how to turn a wrench. But we can damn sure help them do it as efficiently and as profitably as possible.”

We also believe that the business of business relies on relationships. This is where things start to get different. Big Sky invests in the long-term success of the business that we partner with. We bring all of our experience and resources with the only intent being to grow the business SIGNIFICANTLY.
